Christmas Traditions are Coming to Town

It is the holiday season and so it will be Christmas. On Wednesday, December 18 on the San Marino campus they will be having a Christmas show and then a traditional Christmas dinner.


There was a good turn out of support for our girls' basketball team! Thank you coming out and cheering our team on. The Sun team put in a good effort, but sadly lost to Le Lycée.

Shakespeare on Tour with a Performance of Julius Caesar

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival performed at the San Marino campus a production of Julius Caesar. The Shakespeare Festival is a non profit regional theater company and major arts-education provider. Their goal of the Festival is to make the words and themes of Shakespeare accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, financial status, or level of education.

Celebrating Día de Muertos in Arizona

The students at the Beaver Creek campus went to Tlaquepaque in Sedona to celebrate Día de Muertos.

At the San Marino campus the students enjoyed a costume contest in the morning, then in the afternoon the fun continued with pie eating contest, spider search, pumpkin carving.



The Southwestern Academy Music Society, a student ensemble, held their first chamber music concert of the 2013/14 School Year at Veronda Place.

International Dinner Night ~ Korean Dinner

Once a month, Southwestern honors one of the many different cultures represented by its diverse student body. Students from each region prepare a dinner of unique foods common to their country for their peers to experience. 

At the beginning of the evening the students present cultural information about their country, followed by entertainment. Recently, a group of Korean students lead by student body president Mark Song presented the Korean Dinner, which included a dance performance and a special video message made especially for the students of Southwestern from Korea's top pop stars, "Brown Eyed Girls".

Afterwards, the student body enjoyed a delicious dinner of Guksu,  Kimchi, Bokkeum, Japchae and Yangnyeom Tongdak, prepared by the students along with Mark Song's mother and aunt.

The Summer Adventures at Southwestern Academy offers a program that uniquely combines classroom education with fun, exciting and exceptional activities allowing students to enjoy their summer while exploring new opportunities in and out of the classroom.
