Celebrating Día de Muertos in Arizona

The students at the Beaver Creek campus went to Tlaquepaque in Sedona to celebrate Día de Muertos.

At the San Marino campus the students enjoyed a costume contest in the morning, then in the afternoon the fun continued with pie eating contest, spider search, pumpkin carving.



The Southwestern Academy Music Society, a student ensemble, held their first chamber music concert of the 2013/14 School Year at Veronda Place.

Attended by numerous students and faculty, pieces included Chopin’s “Nocturne OP. 12, No. 1” performed by Flora Chen on piano, Jules Massenet’s” Meditation” performed by Nicole Shao on violin, “Chopin’s OP.34, No. 2” performed by Debbie Fang on piano, Franz Liszt’s “Love’s Sorrow” by Nicole Shao on violin, Beethoven’s “Piano Sonata No. 8, Op.13 (2nd Movement)” performed by Flora Chen on piano.

 Kumiko Noma’s “Lilium” performed by Steven Yen on cello and Edward Yen on violin and Zhe Tao’s “Just Friends” performed by Kim Ni on guitar and Peter Feng vocal.  The students and faculty in attendance enjoyed light refreshments after the performance.
