The Great Woman of Maize

We love to hear about successes our alumni have in college and beyond. On this past November 1st, recent graduate Nancy Ruiz Vasquez (2013) read her poem "The Great Woman of Maize" in front of the English Department at CSUN. The poem, a bilingual evocation of her mother and her culture, won a first-place prize in a contest that included graduate students. Congratulations, Nancy!
